ATTICA. Athens. Circa 420s-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.06 g, 8 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette; on cheek, countermark: anchor within incuse. Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square; on owl, uncertain countermark; in field to right, countermark: turtle (?) within rectangular incuse. Kroll 8. Svoronos pls. 15-17 passim. A few scratches on the obverse and with a test cut on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
